Major Airports in Yangon

Yangon International Airport (RGN) is the main international travel hub in the area and is located in Mingaladon, just 30 minutes from Yangon city centre. There is both a domestic and an international terminal, the latter of which has recently undergone an upgrade and some renovation work. Although still small, you will find the typical airport facilities including some shops and places to get something to eat and a drink.

Airport Transportation in Yangon

A taxi to Yangon International Airport is by far the easiest way to get there and the journey will take around 30 minutes. A cheaper option is to take the route 51 public bus part of the way and then walk or take a taxi for the remainder of the journey. The bus will stop at Airport Road and there is approximately a further kilometre to go until your reach the airport.
