Muscat International Airport (MCT) serves the region and is located 32 km from Muscat, the capital of Oman. It is currently undergoing expansion and already serves over seven million passengers a year. The passenger terminal consists of departure, arrival, and transfer zones, as well as duty free shops and lounge areas. The facilities are plentiful, with coffee shops, gift shops, comfortable seating areas and even a nursery and children’s play area.
Airport Transportation in Muscat
It is easiest to get a taxi to Muscat International Airport. There is no dedicated bus to Muscat International Airport, but a taxi can easily be arranged. Be aware that you should negotiate the fare before setting off for the airport, as Muscat taxis do not use meters. By road, the city centre is approximately 30 minutes away depending upon the volume of traffic. Due to the mountainous terrain in the region, there is no train to Muscat International Airport.
