Major Airports in Melbourne

The airport serving the city is Melbourne Airport (MEL) which is approximately 14 miles from the city centre. Melbourne Airport’s four terminals have 16 international gates and Terminal 2 deals with international flights. This large airport is well equipped and comfortable, with showers, lounges and plenty of shops and restaurants.

Airport Transportation in Melbourne

Every ten minutes, 24 hours a day, seven days a week a Skybus runs from the airport to the city centre making getting a bus to Melbourne Airport cost effective and very accessible. There are also plenty of public buses running frequent routes to the city and suburbs, out of Broadmeadows and Sunbury station. A taxi to Melbourne Airport can be accessed next to Terminal 1 or 3 where designated cabs are ranked and available, or bookings can be made inside the airport from the appropriate desks. There is no specific train to Melbourne Airport although the city does have a good rail system. The Craigieburn train line will connect to a bus which travels to the airport if required.
