Major Airports in Kathmandu

As Nepal is a small country Tribhuvan International Airport (KTM) is its only international airport. It is located 3 miles from the city centre of Kathmandu. It offers snack shops and various shopping opportunities including a souvenir shop. There is also a convenient currency exchange and post office facilities. The duty-free shop is located on the first floor as is a business class lounge. Be sure to sit on the left hand side of the plane near the window on your way out of Kathmandu. The view of the Himalayas is stunning.

Airport Transportation in Kathmandu

There is a regularly scheduled bus to Tribhuvan International Airport from the city centre of Kathmandu that runs daily from dawn to dusk, but not during the night. If money is not a concern you could always take a taxi to Tribhuvan International Airport as there are always plenty around the city willing to take you there. There is no train to Tribhuvan International Airport.
