Major Airports in Male

Ibrahim Nasir International Airport (MLE) is the major airport in Male, located on Hulhulé Island. The airport has changed its name twice from Hulhulé Airport and later from Male Airport. It is the Maldives’ main airport and the only one with international flights.

The airport has multiple terminals and one of its most fascinating is the Seaplane Terminal which is mainly for inter-island trips. The airport has modern amenities and facilities such as Wi-Fi and various Internet stations for Internet access. Duty-free shops can be found in the departures area and you can also find souvenir shops in both the departure and transit lounges.

If on Hulhulé Island, you can always catch a bus to Ibrahim Nasir International Airport. Otherwise small boats known as dhoni are available for inter-island travel.
