Major Airports in Shanghai

The primary airport for Shanghai is Shanghai Pudong International Airport (PVG). Due to its location it is also a major nexus for flights into and out of Asia. The airport has two main passenger terminals, which accomdate tens of millions pass through its gates every year. Shaghai airport is connected to the Maglev train service, which was the first of its kind for commercial passengers.

In Shanghai you can take a shuttle bus to Pudong International Airport. The underground metro train to Pudong International Airport is a possibility, but allow at least one hour for the journey. A taxi to Pudong International Airport is a faster option and there are many to choose from.

From early morning until late evening you can take the Maglev Magnetic train to Pudong International Airport. It works by magnetic levitation and is the fastest commercial train in the world. The journey takes eight minutes and runs every 15 minutes.
