Major Airports in Darwin

Darwin International Airport (DRW) is the busiest airport in the Northern Territory, serving over 1.7 million travellers annually and housing over 16 different airlines, it is the only airport servicing the city of Darwin. Though the airfield has history dating back to the England to Australia air race of 1919, the current passenger terminal was constructed in 1991.

Airport Transportation in Darwin

Located a modest 13km from the centre of Darwin, travelling to and from the airport is fast and convenient. Travellers can catch a bus to Darwin International Airport from the Casuarina Interchange in the northern suburbs of Darwin, and the trip takes approximately 10 minutes. Travellers can also catch the Darwin Airport Shuttle, which provides transit to and from all major city accommodations.

A taxi to Darwin International Airport is available and provides greater scheduling flexibility, though is a more expensive option. There is no train to Darwin International Airport.
